About Psychotherapy & Counselling

Counselling and Psychotherapy are talking therapies, the objective being to gain an understanding of the difficulties troubling you. It is a personalised and non medical way of working through any problems you have that may be causing difficulty in your relationships with others stopping you reaching your true potential. By working together, and fostering a trusting relationship being client and therapist we can;

  • address your thought processes, feeling and behaviors
  • understand your inner conflicts
  • find new ways to deal with difficult situations

Sessions are 50 minutes long and occur on regular (often weekly) basis. Please give me a call to discuss further and book an initial appointment.

Ethics and Confidentiality

Registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy I adhere to their ethical framework which focuses on;

  • Acting in the best interest of the client
  • Considering issues of Diversity and Equality
  • Protecting and preserving client confidentiality
  • Committing to an on-going process of professional and personal development

What Conditions Can Psychotherapy Help?

Psychotherapy and Counselling can work with almost any issue if you are willing to commit to the work. This could be feelings of anxiety or stress, difficulty in relationship or managing a significant life event. Perhaps you have suffered a bereavement, facing retirement, ending relationship, or starting a new chapter in your life? Maybe you are noticing patterns of behavior that get you in to trouble or push people away? Or are you tired, stressed, feeling lost or anxious? Essentially there is right or wrong reason to come to counselling or psychotherapy.
